This was a freelance design project for a small business known as Small Batch Ply. The client wanted a logo design that conceptually represented the brand and its purpose; an experimental production of patterned rare wood types for a variety of creative uses. Through multiple meetings, sketches, and versions I created a logo mark pared with an appropriate typeface and weight. The different elements found in the logo that represent the brand are the square outline representing the square pieces of wood, the spark to represent the use of a laser engraver for production as well as the ingenuity behind it, and the overall look gives an elevated high-end feel while also staying creative and playful.
